Sketchup Basics Video Tutorial

Since CabWriter is built on top of SketchUp, it’s important to us that our users have at least a basic knowledge of SketchUp in order to get the most out of CabWriter. We also realize that not everyone has the time to devote to learning all the ins and outs of a software program in one sitting. To that end, we’ve created a new SketchUp Basics video tutorial that we’re offering for free. It’s a little over an hour long and is designed to get you up and running quickly and equip you with a basic knowledge of the commands and concepts you’ll need to get started working with CabWriter.

If you’ve never used SketchUp before, or even if you have, we highly recommend you watch this video before starting your CabWriter 30 day free trial. If you decide later you want to dive deeper into SketchUp, we have other options you can choose from, such as a more in-depth video training class ($40) or a SketchUp textbook; both written and produced by our very own Joe Zeh.

Getting Started

Click the button to the right to get started by downloading the SketchUp Basics PDF document. It’s very important that you read this document first to get your SketchUp environment setup properly to take the course. The document will lead you through downloading a template file and personalizing your environment. At the end of the document, you’ll find the links to either download the video tutorial to your computer or to watch it on YouTube. You can also find a link to download the finished SketchUp model used in the tutorial.

If you have any questions while working through the tutorial, please email us at [email protected].  We hope you enjoy it!
