“In looking for a cabinet program, I had several things that were important to me. First, due to the types of projects that we build, it needed to have the ability to edit extensively. By working within SketchUp, it gives me the ability to use CabWriter’s already extensive edit capability and then whenever I run into something that goes beyond its ability I can use the SketchUp tools to create whatever I want. Second, I wanted a program that didn’t require a huge learning curve. Having a bit of experience with other programs, I can say that CabWriter does a great job with this. Their videos and instruction manual very clearly outlines the different steps needed to achieve your goals. And third, I needed to have a program with great customer service. I seem to have the ability to run into bugs and program limits with every program I use. Joe and Greg have been fantastic in that regard, often getting on the phone with me to troubleshoot problems and having the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner. All things considered, CabWriter has been one the best investments that we have made in our business.”

CabWriter has become a vital part of our remodeling business. When we made the decision to build custom cabinets in house and further take advantage of our CNC capabilities, we realized that were missing an important piece. We needed a way to efficiently and accurately plan and draw our cabinets. We also needed a way to present the design to the client for sign-off and then give us all of the cabinet parts in a way that could be communicated to the CNC. After looking for months for a solution, we discovered CabWriter. It is a great solution for our custom cabinet business. The quality of the program along with the excellent support has been the perfect partner.

The CabWriter support team has been great to work with and very accessible. They have open communication with the customer for feedback to meet our future needs. CabWriter has been fantastic to work with and has been the perfect solution for our business. Highly recommend you try the product.”

“Some time ago we went to the International Woodworking Fair in search of an inexpensive, yet flexible and powerful cabinet software. I was about to give up when I met Joe and Greg. Their personable style and the CabWriter software they created seemed like a good fit but I still had some reservations. Will I still be able to create custom, one-of-a-kind cabinet designs? How will it work with pre-finished plywoods and will I be able to master all those perameters? Joe and Greg were extremely helpful in answering my concerns and helping me get started. After a short time of “playing” with the software, I was ready to put my first job into production and all of our cabinetry projects have been drawn with Cabwriter since then.

CabWriter has honestly revolutionized the way we build cabinetry. Not only can I produce custom 3D drawings for the customer and layout drawings for the shop, I can quickly and easily produce DXF files to be cut on a CNC table. My customers love the 3D drawings and my cabinet makers love how easy it is to assemble cabinets.

If you’re looking for a cost-effective but powerful and user friendly software, I’ve experienced first hand how well CabWriter fits that bill. And if you’re worried about the learning curve, the team at CabWriter has some of the best video tutorials out there. I’m not especially tech savvy and had only a basic knowledge of SketchUp when I got started but the resources helped me power through the learning stage quickly. I’m truly excited about CabWriter and what it has done for my business and I encourage any cabinet maker, whether you’re a hobbyist or professional to try it and see for yourself!”

“I was looking for an affordable way to do cabinet design that would also streamline the process of producing shop drawings and cut lists. I signed up to beta test Cabwriter and after about 4 hours of online tutorials I was designing my first kitchen. I was thrilled! It is akin to the difference between using a typewriter and a word processor. Changes and corrections are seemingly effortless.

Designing is a creative process that goes through multiple changes. Cabwriter provides tremendous flexibility to alter your designs. All the drawings and reports associated with those changes are rapidly updated. It saves hours of work and reduces human error that often occurs recalculating numbers or re-entering data.

It can take time to become familiar with new technology and there are usually questions along the way. The team at Cabwriter have created a variety of online tutorials and tools that guide you through the features of their product. They have always responded to questions and value constructive feedback.

What is your time worth? How can you more efficiently use your materials? The cost of Cabwriter was recovered during the construction of my first kitchen model. With Cabwriter you can create professional drawing, you will know exactly what materials you need, what your cabinets are going to look like, and how they are going to be constructed before you make a single cut. I wouldn’t start a project without it.”

Cabwriter has been a terrific addition to my toolbox! Not only is it cost effective by giving me much more for my money, It has proven to be extremely efficient not only with drawing, but being able to use with Cutlist as well as the potential to export files for cnc operation. Best of all in my opinion is the phenomenal support from the Cabwriter team. You just can’t go wrong with that kind of deal!

Below are a number of real life projects that were designed using CabWriter, CutlistPlus fx, and in a couple of cases, Vectric’s Cut2D plus for CNC. All of the projects were built by students or faculty at the New England School of Architectural Woodworking (NESAW) in Easthampton, MA.  NESAW has been involved in the design and testing of CabWriter from the very beginning…

Southampton, MA

This kitchen was built by staff at NESAW using a design from CabWriter and shop drawings created by Sketchup Pro.  The carcass parts were cut on a ShopBot CNC machine using Vectric Cut2D Pro to nest the parts and create tool paths.  Part labels were printed using Cutlist Plus fx.

Easthampton, MA

This kitchen was built by students at NESAW using a design from CabWriter, shop drawings created by Sketchup Pro, and plywood optimization and labels provided by Cutlist Plus fx.

Northampton, MA
